Hi Friends, just wanted to come and introduce my self.  I just moved to San Diego from Texas and am completely new to the scene.  Booked my first trip to TJ in February.  I'm don't really drink so not sure if going to HK or any of the popular bars or clubs is my vibe.  I wanted to ask what are your thoughts on independent girls and if anyone can recommend some sites they use?  Also of note my Spanish is non-existent so not sure if that will be a big hindrance.  Thanks for all the tips and looking forward to exploring the city.

Welcome aboard!

Not drinking in the clubs isn't an issue - they are happy to sell you water, juice, or soda for about the same price :rofl1:

Many of the indie chicas work off of Telegram but that can be a more difficult route for a first-timer down here.  If you want to have an escort, I suggest scoping through the Escorts section here on the site to get an idea of the agencies that are available.  Mexico Lindo Bar, CuminTJ, and Musas are well established and recommended for a first-timer. https://www.tijuanatalk.net/forum/144-escort-chicas/

Since you're in San Diego already, why the wait until February?

Also, if you don't have a passport, apply for one now.  Yes, it's possible to cross into Mexico without it by paying a "propina" (aka bribe) at the border but really it makes everything easier if you do have one.

Lack of Spanish isn't a problem really.  Get Google Translate for your phone and download the offline dictionary for Spanish.  All the chicas know how to use it.  But in the meantime, consider also downloading something like DuoLingo for your phone to start learning a bit of Spanish.  The San Diego Public Library also has free online access to Rosetta Stone or similar.

We have a large section on the site here about learning Spanish, too - https://www.tijuanatalk.net/forum/29-spanish-school/

Reading through some of the past trip reports can give you an idea of all the many ways to enjoy our city!

Thanks for the tips Rueben.  I've been reading that December/January all the girls go back home for the holidays and I also wanted to give myself some time to learn the language haha.

This is a great time to come down because it's not nearly as crowded.  Even on a Tuesday afternoon in HK, there are still at least 70 chicas working...

It is true that a number of chicas head back to other states for the holidays but there is also an influx of short-timers who want to make extra dinero for the holidays!

The only day that's not worth being down here is New Years Eve, and even that isn't bad.

Mongering in the zona is how  you learn Spanish.  Maybe it is why you learn as well, but one hour in the zona is worth about four hours using Babbel or Duolingo.

Good tip from Rueben....

Where did you live in Texas? Depending on what area of Texas - I have been to most cities there - San Diego will be much different in many ways....

Yes, of course, if you don't already have these, apply for Passport and Passport card. And Global Entry. Processing time for passports is a few months?, and getting an appointment for a GE interview can take a while, as Otay Mesa is booked for many months. But going to Calexico CA or San Luis AZ are good options and you can get a interview much faster....

Most newbies to TJ will stick to the basics - Hong Kong, Chicago Club. The big time, OG club, Adelita's, has been closed for months by the City.

As recommended, you can also enjoy the escorts. You can cross and take a taxi to a love motel like La Mansion, and the escort will meet you. The services like Mexico Lindo Bar operated by Sampson, one of our board members, is known for reliable and professional service.

Tijuana has excellent restaurants, so if you are a foodie, lots of great spots to hit. And, aside from beautiful young women ready to service you, good arts and culture scene in TJ. And, if you want to explore more of Mexico, non-stop flights to 30+ destinations in Mexico from the TJ Airport. And, if you hit a sale, you can get a roundtrip ticket for $100-150 to some destinations.

If you stick to the primary areas like the Zona Rio, you will be fine. Careful in the Zona Norte, as there are lots of rateros, deported criminals and desperate people. So, keep your wits about you, don't stand on the sidewalk chatting on your cell phone, as someone may run by and snatch it, don't carry anything you can't afford to lose. And, if someone comes up on the street speaking decent English offering to show you around, get whatever you need, just say thanks, no thanks  and move on..... Dollars are fine in TJ. Bring lots of small bills for tips.

Good point.... the chicas that live in TJ full-time will be around. But, the out of towners that accumulated enough $$ to go home for the holidays will be gone...

Again, for better service, not getting hassled by mesaros, etc., book some escorts. Fine to pop into the ZN and places like HK, CC, Tropical Bar to get a taste, but these days, you literally get more bang for your $ from escorts....

You're already in San Diego man I wouldn't even wait any longer to take the trip. Forget what idiots say about there not being a lot of girls during the holidays, yeah a lot do go back home or take time off, but there's always more than plenty to choose from.

Trust me, girls will still be there and do take in @Reuben's advice as it's solid gold.  #1 point is if you make it to HK, simply relax, relax, take a seat at the nearest bar and refuse the first proposals until you are 100% comfortable.

Oh si, can be difficult as these chicas are pros taking your money so know this, it's Ok to say no and they are used to it.

Going to jump in and agree with everyone else here that says do not wait if lack of girls is the concern. I can assure you that even if it’s not “prime time” you will have so many options that you will leave wishing you had more time and money. Over the years I’ve been in TJ every month and despite any holiday or day of the week - there was always more than I could handle. From bars to escorts there is plenty to meet your needs.

As for more regular girls, it’s definitely possible but some Spanish would be required. SA has been gold for me even tho that takes time and hit or miss. But over the past 2 years I’ve had 4 girls, 2 of which I still see every trip. BBFS all night and some sweet girls. But again, takes work and lots of hit and miss.

overall, you will have a great time! Being in San Diego you will have plenty of opportunities to get a good feel and enjoy trips more and more.

have fun and welcome!

How are the chicas supposed to teach you Spanish when their mouth is full? 😅

True story:

I was on business trip to Panama with my monger coworker/great friend @Dragon-Encabronado when we went to the local hotel/casino (now defunct) to get some chicas.  There was a pretty young thing there that looked barely a day over 18 and was very nervous amongst a group of older putas.  We went up to them and mi amigo (who speaks fluent Spanish and at that time I spoke very little) asked if the young girl spoke any English.  The older puta to her right immediately said no, but why does she need to speak any English when her mouth is going to be full!

This is why I've changed my language game now when running after haoles in the Zona. "Salut, comment vas-tu aujourd'hui ? Y a-t-il quelque chose dont vous avez besoin, quelque chose que je peux vous offrir, ce que vous voulez. C'est la zona, frérot" as I now chase after them reading passages from The Fountainhead or singing the disco classic "Haven't Stopped Dancing Yet".

Welcome   Crimson Panda.  And welcome to SD as well.  We might be neighbors.  TJ talk was also my important resource the first few times I went to TJ.  You are in the right place...

CrimsonPanda. My very 1st time coming to the Land of Pu$$y lovers was February of 2006. I to read on another site that a lot of the girls go home for the holidays. When I came down it was a ton of girls. Both in the clubs and on the street. Damn I wish I lived closer 😢

I joke about this, but I really have learned a lot of Spanish from hanging out with chicas. If I subtract however much it would cost me to pay a Spanish tutor in the states from whatever donation, then it's such a bargain that I would be financially irresponsible not to do it. xD

2006 is about right for me though it could've been 2007.  Prior, I'd made 1 or 2 trips annually to Costa Rica.  Had a retired friend that moved there, opened a damn good restaurant and bar in the local where the Costa Rica local annual golf course is located whose name escapes me, but a very nice course and his restaurant was superb.

He showed us the way so to speak and the Blue Marlin,, much like HK but entirely less BS, no maseros, no pressure, girls of course from CR, Columbia, Panama, the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.

Met my Nic friend in the Blue Marlin, she was willing to travel with me for $60/day, such a sweet girl and a hell of a bargain, claro a nice tip for her when I returned.  I sort of kind of miss that chica and wish here well, yet still so happy with my civie, no comparison really.
