Planning a week or so

New to the site, so howdy. Planning a trip to TJ just unsure of when would be the best time or where to stay. Just generally trying to get a lay of the land. Been to nevada enough to know I got screwed enough and over paid for an experience. So what time of the year is best to take a trip

As far as time, there is really no awful time. Over the holidays there will be less girls.

If you are going to do the clubs make it simple and stay at Cascadas or Rizo. If you are going to be staying a week then make sure you get the VIP card to get the discounted room.

After a few trips you will start to figure out what you like and don’t like. Most guys eventually move from the clubs and go the escort route and stay outside of the zona. But, it took me quite a few trips to get burned out with staying at Rizo or Cascadas. So you should be fine.

Is there a time of year where the girls are there but the tourist crowd is kinda low? I am a betting man but like ro kinda hedge my bets where I can. I was looking at a  week at cascadas but rizo looks really comfortable. I just want to be comfortable and spend most of my time and money with the girls.

Most of the chicas are in a group chat in WA so they know when to plan being in town based on clientele and money being spent.  If the crowds are light and not spending money, then they go home or don’t book their flights or bus to TJ.  They all have expenses to maintain hair, nails, lashes, lingerie, hotel, apartment, food, etc.  It doesn’t even include external family issues, bills, etc.

The negatives about weekends are it is a sausage fest, top talent comes out to try and get as much money as possible.  Also most of the top talent gets tied up with drinks and multiple Arribas so get used to waiting your turn even if you setup appt. via WA.  I recall meeting a chica and she had 4 clients lined up at various times and one of them was even lingering around while she was drinking with me.  It was odd, but glad the guy was waiting his turn.

Go with Rizo - it's been remodeled more recently and is literally across the street from Cascadas/Hong Kong.  Rizo has Bar Tropical (BT) downstairs, which many of the vets prefer over the burn 'n churn of HK.  For your edification, both Hong Kong (Cascadas) and Tropical (Rizo) are owned by the same family.  They also own Las Chavelas (which is really just part of Hong Kong now) and Malquerida (Ibiza) in the Zona.

As to the time of year, no real season here being so close to San Diego.  It's a bit slower during Christmas time and January/February, but nothing noticeable.

If you're coming for a week, consider splitting off a night or two at another hotel "in town" (Ticuan or Aqua Rio are chica-friendly choices) to see escorts if you want to mix it up.  Most escorts won't come to a Zona hotel.

@Sargon posted a link a few replies above and there are some good tips and info in those from just the past day or two.

And welcome aboard!

So escorts wont even come to Rizo?

Just not a good idea thing or flat out refusal? I started looking at some of the escorts and good god I was having a hard time justifying the bar girl prices i have seen.

Many just don't want to risk being seen in La Zona let alone seen going into a hooker hotel.

This and also the weird belief that they will get mugged or jumped by bar girls!:cutedance: Kid you not, that 's what my favorita and other 2 escorts I've gotten have told me.

But also, several escorts have started off as bar girls, and just flat out refuse to go back to the place, or burned one too many bridges there.

In addition to the reasons given above, many girls think it's too dangerous. By that I mean you have horned up gringos, many are already shitfaced, and you (the girl) have no idea what you're walking into. Lots of guys get violent if they have a case of whiskey dick. With a regular hotel, or a love motel, she has a bit more control of the situation. It's been several years since a dead hooker turned up in a love motel room, but dead hookers and dead clients turn up in the Zona Norte with some regularity.

PS - Few escorts will go to a private residence or an AirBnB, either.

I was dating a BG from Tropical years ago, and her Dad worked for an Airport taxi company. Some taxi driver saw her in front of Tropical one night and told her Dad, and it resulted in a real shit storm at home (she lived her Mom and Dad and her two young kids), as she had told him she was working at a restaurant.

I have seen several off-duty pro's around town with their novio, husband and other family at places like Plaza Rio, etc. On some occasions, I saw a quick look of concern on the woman's face when she saw me, and I made sure to move away so as not to create any added shit for her....

Considering the prices of zona norte hotels are approaching nicer chain hotels in TJ, why not just book Ticuan and then you can decide whether you want to spend $ at the bars that day or just order in.  You can also explore TJ a lot easier from Ticuan as there are many cool places you can walk to, starting with Calle sexta.

I don't blame them one bit for being concerned!

I spend as little time as possible when "visiting" the ZN.

Get in, hit a Club or 3, then get the heck out!!

Just do your deal and move on-IMO.

Lots of nutty street ppl, and some "Ugly-American types.".....the longer you are there, the more you are likely to get harassed by either the Policia, Street people and various riff-raff, etc.

BTW, always stay in constant motion, and keep a swivel head-don't let any suspicious ppl follow you, just put your back to the nearest wall or duck into the nearest establishment until it's safe.

VIVA MEXICO!

What exactly is Calle sexta?

Another thing that came to mind is paying for things like food and drinking how is the best way? I quit carrying cash in the states because my job is...... well not exactly conducive to not being robbed, mugged, and beaten. Hasn't happened to me yet but I also don't trust folks who are around me unless I consider them family

There's a lot of cool shops, eateries, and clubs on Calle Sexta. It's really only about 2 blocks' worth, from Madero to Constitución which isn't much. But a great night can be had just going here, then hitting up the zona as a nightcap.

Cash is king in Tijuana, even at places that accept credit cards, the machine may be down, your bank may refuse the charge, etc.

In general, USD is accepted everywhere, though you might get change back in pesos from time to time.  Small bills are key - no one can break a 500 peso note or a $20 bill unless the price is close to the bill.

There are ATMs all over Tijuana.  Use one at an actual bank like Banamex/Scotia/HBSC for cash if you don't want to carry a lot when crossing.  There are cambios (change houses) on both sides of the border to get pesos or you can just use USD, though it is handy to have pesos on hand for quick buys like tacos.

Don't carry your whole stash of cash with you on the streets.  Several Amigos like the Pacsafe brand of bags which you can secure to the sink in your room if you're so inclined.  Some Amigos just stash their cash in their dirty socks in their bag.

Overall, it's unlikely you'll be mugged on the street.  The bigger concern is getting stopped by the policia (yes, even if you're walking) and getting searched, which does happen without rhyme or reason... well, the reason is you're a gringo and they know you have cash.

This thread has some good info in it on cash/valuables in TJ:

I make a slit in the inside jean area.  This will create a pocket that can fit for a few hundred dollar bills rolled up and chicas thinking you have a nice bulge.  Moreso, I think the policiaor security wouldn't like to frisk that area.

Start.

I only carry pesos, and maybe a few $5 bills, or a $20. No $100. It's far easier to buy stuff around town with local currency. The only glitch are the Zona bars, which price everything in dollars. The exchange rates are wonky and getting the proper change may be difficult.

A cop's eyes light up when a gringo pulls a wad of Benjamins out of his pocket. Pulling a wad of pesos out of your pocket tends to cause the reverse. Far better to lose 500 pesos in a bribe than 100 dollars.

I use credit cards routinely in Mexico and have never had an issue. BUT I only use them in legit establishments, like high end restaurants, hotels, grocery stores. I prefer the Banamex ATMs, as the fees are among the cheapest.

Nice idea.  I use a leg wallet that I can keep most of my cash in when visiting the ZN. It has two zippered pockets. It is out of sight but I know where my cash is at all times.

Bought on Amazon a few years ago.

Next week or the week after. Actually anytime. San Diego is recognized as having the best weather in the United States. The only difference between TJ and San Diego is TJ is more of a heat island due to the lack of trees from my experience. Because of that maybe summer is the worst time, so go ASAP.
