New to Tijuana

Hello, I've decided to visit Tijuana for the first time after recently moving back to the States. I've went over Burt's guide and read few trip reports. I plan on visiting the second week of March but I'm still undecided on where to stay. Would you guys recommend staying half of the trip at cascades and the other half outside the zone, at Ticuan perhaps?

If you're coming for four+ days, yes, split the time.  Cascadas is the center of the action, for sure, but it's not the best for sleep ;)  Ticuan is equal to probably a decent Marriott in a mid-size town like Sacramento or Columbus, OH.  Ticuan is chica-friendly but it's too far for bar girls or street girls so escorts only.

Some Amigos like to keep a room at Cascadas for their whole stay (it's cheap on Mon/Tues with the VIP card discount) so they can bring up BGs and SGs and then keep a room at Ticuan or similar to sleep and recharge.  Other options near Ticuan include Villa de Zaragoza ( @Don Pisto is a regular here) and Aqua Rio.  It's about a 15 minute walk from any of these down to Zona, though if it's early in the morning or after dark, I highly recommend using an Uber or a taxi to get back and forth.

So if you have a room at cascades you can just bring HK girls to that room instead of paying for one? I probably won't visit Tijuana again anytime soon so I probably won't buy a VIP card.

The latest on Villa de Zaragoza is a rate increase (COVID-19 coverage?)-IDK why they decided to RAISE rates now-of all times-LOL! But they did:

The older rooms are now at $66.00 usd per night! These are large rooms located on the first floor in the "Garden-Section"--they are nice, comfortable but have not been updated since the 1980's and

it shows!

The REMODELED rooms are in the $75.00 usd-$85.00 usd range, and IMO not worth it--I would go to Ticuan instead--IMO.

I usually just contact them directly at 011-52-664-685-1832 after 700 am but before 3pm--ask for Luis, but speak slowly, since English is his second language--He's a good guy and will take care of you!

Yes, that's correct.  The VIP card is $60 now and gives you 20% off the room rate each night and 70% (yes, seventy percent) off rooms on Mon and Tuesday so it will often pay for itself within one week long visit.  It also has other bennies, including 20% in the restaurant, though I always forget to use it when I'm there.

That's right.  I forgot they jacked up the rates.  Aqua Rio then would be my "budget" downtown recommendation.  @Diggy seems to like it and I've used it a few times over the years.  Rooms are always spotless and they have good WiFi and air conditioning.

20% Off Restaurante Azul, Dine in  -  Is this new?

Also, I guess the free breakfast in the HK club,  (Tues and Wed) is given by the Hotel not the VIP{ card.

I did not know the HK main club is called -  Club Baja.

Not forgetting the discount on standard rooms for Mon and Tues used to be 80%, now it is 70%,  adding $12 more for both days.  Per day. used to pay $12, now $18.

Would you recommend just getting the standard room there? I was thinking of the Jacuzzi room don't really know if I would use it that much though

At Cascadas I always would get a Master Suite. It's not much more with the 70% discount, has more space, and is not in the same area where the short time rooms are. The Master Suite has a jacuzzi, but I have never used it. It takes most of 30 minutes to fill, which means you pretty much can only do it with a girl if she stays for an hour. Plus, the girls don't want to ruin their hair and makeup for when they go back down. You might make it work if you negotiated a longer time with a girl going off shift, maybe a TLN situation. I wouldn't count on it, though.

The jacuzzi suite at Ticuan is an option if you like the idea of a soak with a girl. Get an escort for an hour and start the tub filling when she messages that she is there.

I never really cared for the Jacuzzi, at any Hotel for that matter.  Besides you would think bad things when you see mud brown water coming out.  I don't know why, I don't like it.  I have no confidence they clean it before they recycle it around.  The Jacuzzi room itself is fun though. I love the lightings and the mirror along side of the headboard of the bed.  Used to be $22/day on Mon and Tuesdays, for that deal I used to go for it. I am not sure how much it is with a VIP discount now, probably $30/day?  Still worth it.  I would switch to the standard room for anything outside of the Mon and Tues.

I am like @KCQuestor and always get a master suite.  Especially if you are planning on sleeping there for a few nights it makes a difference.  I have used the jacuzzi quite a few times. But as Dulla said I dont trust their cleaning.  So i just ask one of the guys to clean it for me while I wait.  Worth paying them the extra tip to watch them do it haha

Probably overly paranoid but its worth it to me.

I used to get the Master Suite but the last two times they've given me a Jacuzzi Suite while having me pay for a Master. Not much difference but the Master is more with a few more amenities

My suspicion on cleaning had to do on the recycled water itself not the tub in the rooms. I just don't trust them.  The water is awfully brown, why?  rusted pipes? uncleaned water?  chemicals?  I used to going in it in the mornings lukewarm water with foam and coffee while watching soccer games on my phone.  The brown water kept bothering me and I stopped. Generally though I am not a Jacuzzi enthusiast.  The girls never liked going in it, ever. One girl had the same suspicion as I.

Do the Villa de Zaragoza and Aqua Rio hotels allow you to take a guest back to your room?

Yes, they do and I haven't had any issues with extra guest charges BUT when I make a reservation and check in, I always make sure I'm listed for two people in the room.
